Exactly how to post
There’s been a little confusion from readers about how to register for our #BlackFriday luggage giveaway from our friends at Lieber’s Luggage.
You post a travel photo to Instagram, add the hashtag #photowalksgiveaway and follow PhotowalksTV on Instagram.
Need more detail?
Let’s try it this way:
—Post a travel photo to YOUR Instagram page, not mine, because that won’t go anywhere.
—When you post the photo, title it, add a description if you like, and then type in this hashtag: #photowalksgiveaway
And that’s it. We’ll find your photos and announce the winner Sunday.
Then, for the randomly selected winner, Lieber’s will box up the official Photowalks edition of the carry-on suitcase and ship it to you—as long as you’re in the Continental U.S.
This is the same bag that I tote with me on every Photowalks trip—this year it’s been up and down the midwest (Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus), Route 66 (New Mexico and Arizona) and all over the East (Boston, NY, Philly, DC, New Haven, Providence) and is now headed to Kobe/Osaka and Kyoto, Japan next week.
It’s a great bag that rolls really nicely on all four wheels, has a surprising amount of room for lots of clothes, when packed correctly and looks swell. I bought two of them when we visited the store in May, one for me, and one for the Mrs.
I hope you get to know Lieber’s. Remember the days when there were luggage stores in everytown USA? Now, sadly, there are only a handful left, as more consumers just go to big box stores like Target and Wal-Mart to buy poorly made cases from overseas or pick up a quick replacement at the airport.
We visited Albuquerque based Lieber’s during our Route 66 trip and loved seeing Dustin and his crew not just selling many different brands downstairs, but making its own line upstairs as well. Please keep it up! (And don’t forget that beyond Black Friday, it’s #SmallBusiness Saturday this weekend too.)
Speaking of Route 66, our annual Photowalks marathon kicks off Thursday for the holiday on Scripps News, starting at 10 a.m. ET with the complete six-part Route 66 series, from Chicago to Santa Monica. Who needs a parade when you can join me on the Mother Road?
Remember that you can see Scripps via the smartTV app on Amazon, Apple and Roku, on dedicated channels within Peacock, Pluto and Tubi and built-in to TVs from Samsung, LG, Vizio and TCL.
It’s a fun experience to see the show on TV, but if you’re short on time, you can always watch the New Mexico episode here.
Have a great Thanksgiving holiday everyone.
