New Video Alert: Bakersfield?
Yes, indeed
You know that California town on Route 5 that we all bypass when driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco?
It’s so worth pulling over for, as I learned in this two-part series. Yes, there’s so much there. In Part 1, we visit the world’s oldest and still functioning Woolworth’s luncheonette counter, a historic nearly 100-year-old art deco hotel and companion movie palace, explore the “Bakersfield Sound” by interviewing a former “Buckaroo” who used to play at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace, and I’ve got tips for photographing the iconic Bakersfield sign.
Then next week is all about food, as we indulge in a 12-course family-style Basque meal at the Wool Grower’s, visit the candy factory famous for making only-in-Bakersfield taffy chews, and then, in the photo tip segment, I’ve got tips for how to get great shots with your phone of an ice cream sundae!
I hope you’ll take a look and let me know what you think!
