New Video Alert: California Route 66
From Needles to San Bernardino, West Hollywood and more
For your viewing pleasure: I’ve got the last chapter of the Route 66 adventures for you.
As you know, the “Mother Road” turns 100 this year, and it’s hard to miss so many media outlets celebrating the centennial. So here we go again.
We did the Photowalks Route 66 trip in 2025, and by the time we crossed the Arizona border to California, we were pretty beat, and beyond some desert stops (Amboy and Newberry Springs) we skipped the Inland Empire, saving it for another day, and headed straight to the Santa Monica Pier to close it off. Our original video only included four minutes of California Route 66—now we’ve got a full episode for you.
Today, I’ve got the complete 315 mile route, which I did over several days, including all the Inland Empire cities, and I try to make sense of just where Route 66 is in the Los Angeles area. As I say in the title, it’s not what you think.
Thanks as always for taking the time to watch!
Jeff
