New Video: California's Pacific Coast Highway
The trip of a lifetime
Some 70 million + people are traveling this weekend on road trips, according to the AAA, as many have looked to beat the airport crowds by throwing everyone into the car and taking off down the road to their location.
During the holidays, many people also love to take extended road trips, and so today, I’m debuting the first of a four-part series on what many (including Lonely Planet) agree is one of the best, if not the greatest road trip in the USA, California’s Pacific Coast Highway, from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
Okay, I vote for Route 66 as the greatest of them all, but that’s nearly 2500 miles long over eight states, and the PCH route is way more manageable at just under 500 miles.
Five hundred miles of beautiful ocean scenery, dramatic cliffs and views, so many classic California beach towns to stop into and a landscape that varies with every mile.
The first episode will take you from San Francisco to Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey. By the time the series is finished, I’ll be waving at you from Imperial Beach, the most southwesterly city in the United States, five miles from Tijuana, and the last stop on the U.S. PCH!
As always, the complete series was filmed primarily on iPhones, along with GoPro Hero cameras, DJI Mini 4 Pro drone and the Insta360 cameras.
I hope you’ll tune in and let me know your thoughts.
