When I checked the weather app at 6 a.m. this morning in Chicago and saw that it would be raining non-stop for the first two hours of the day, boy did I get excited.
That would be prime time for mobile photography!
I quickly ran out with an iPhone 16 Pro, which as Photowalkers all know, are water resistant and thus, great for rain photography. Just like all modern smartphones. The a.m. colors, the streaks, the umbrellas!
Photo tip:s the LCD screens on phones can get non-responsive when they get soaked, and the lenses can get water smudges on them. Solution: use an alternative method of snapping the shutter, if need be, like the volume up button, or use your voice on the Galaxy phone to tell it to snap. Apple also lets you do this. If you get the smudge, wipe it with a cloth, or your clothing. That should do the trick.
That’s a quick, brief snippet from Chicagoland. We leave the city Thursday for the first leg of the Route 66 trip, after a pit stop at the legendary Lou Mitchell’s restaurant. Thanks as always to @choosechicago for everything!
