As you have probably done yourself, I find myself on vacation taking out my SLR less and less and using my iPhone more and more for everything but big landscape and low light shots. I was just at Burning Man (my 10th time) and I brought my Z6iii and my iPhone and i never ended up taking the mirrorless camera out at all.
It’s why with the last few iPhone models, I’ve chosen to upgrade for the sometimes minor camera upgrades as they really affect how/what I’m using it for.
Honestly the biggest update that changed things for me with the iPhone becoming more and more prominent for me was the ability to shoot raw files a few years back.
