No bad view of Haystack Rock

We visited the cool seaside village of Cannon Beach, Oregon this week, which is best known for one key, iconic landmark–big, majestic Haystack Rock. The image jumps out at you when walk on the beach for a morning, afternoon or evening stroll. She’s all over town in art galleries, restaurants, bakeries and the like.

Cannon has a huge beach with soft and hard sand, great for walks, bike rides, kite flying, campfires and the like. Each morning we were there, we saw a group of folks riding their horses against the sea. The best time to be on the sands is early in the morning or late in the evening, when the low tides give you more hard sand to walk on.
