For those who are keeping their 16 Pro Max, or using it as a secondary camera: I had a big problem with overheating, to the point where the screen would darken, and shooting in bright daylight became impossible. I asked ChatGPT and it said, (1) don't use your heavy plastic case, and (2) take off the heavy metal magnet ring stand on the back of the phone. Which case? It recommended the Catalyst Influencer case. I'm still in early testing but the overheating so far does seem to be a lot better.

I must be in the minority, but I never had an overheating issue with the iPhone 16 Pro, and I took it to shoots in Galveston, New Orleans, San Francisco, Route 66, etc. and used all day long for filming. That said, no heavy case (a light one from ReeFlex) and no magnet ring on the back. I'm only a week into the iPhone 17 Pro and no overheating there either.
